Liana Cornell

Liana Cornell is an Australian actor, musician, environmentalist and award-winning filmmaker.

Liana’s acting credits have spanned stage and screen both in Australia and internationally.

Most recently, appearing as a key cast member, Liana attracted international recognition for her role as Ania in the hit British-American drama series Britannia. In 2019, Liana wrote, produced, directed and presented the compelling documentary series Refugia. The series highlights the good work undertaken by unsung, everyday heroes devoted to protecting the environment. Refugia has screened at festivals worldwide and won multiple awards.

Liana is a gifted singer and musician and performs under the moniker ‘faery’, creating music that is a melting pot of spiritual pop, ancient future fusion and indie, dripping with psychedelia. Faery’s recently released first single is called ‘blyth’ and features on their debut album, Rising.

As the daughter of actor and filmmaker John Cornell and actress Delvene Delaney Liana’s history is rich with sound and story. During childhood, the walls of her family home echoed with the sound of jazz. With her father woven into the fable of faery, Rising is a remarkably unique piece of work that mirrors the tools that have helped Liana move through trauma and the profound loss of losing her father.

Liana has recently launched her own multimedia company Rising, which comprises a film and television production company, record label and publishing house. The company will develop and produce projects across the genres of film and television, music and books and currently has several works in development.
